How To Help Ukraine Fight Russian Aggression

I usually mute my phone before going to sleep. I was joking that even if the bomb falls, I will not hear it. It’s not that funny anymore. I would not hear my best friend calling me at 6 a.m. on the 24th of February, if I was not sleeping in my AirPods listening to some “Relaxing music” on YouTube. The phone rang and rang in my ears.

How To Help Ukraine Fight Russian Aggression

I had a gut feeling that my friend was gonna tell me something bad. I did not reply to her calls – can you imagine how much my brain wanted to protect me from what I felt already happened. Instead, I quickly checked the news: Russia started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I called my best friend back. And since that time we forgot about peace.

Many of my tour guests ask how to help Ukraine. Here’s a list of how to help Ukraine in a war against Russia: with financial donations, protests, petitions, accepting refugees, cyberattacks, or with direct help.

The National Bank of Ukraine has opened a special account to raise funds for the Ukrainian Army. Anyone from any country can donate!
The account is multi-currency. It is opened for transfers of funds from international partners and donors, any person as well as from Ukrainian business and citizens.

The Ukrainian army is bravely fighting with aggressors. However, it’s not enough, as Russia keeps attacking Ukraine from the air. Ukrainians and people around the world are asking NATO member states and Ukraine-friendly countries to close the airspace over Ukraine and deploy peacekeeping troops in Ukraine. Our army will take care of the rest.

Go on Protests in Your Country/Hometown

It’s crucial for Ukraine to get your support abroad: all over the world, people are going on protests against Russian aggression, demanding their governments to send aid to our army and civilians, to impose more sanctions on Russian organizations, businesses, etc. Staying vocal at the moment means not only showing your solidarity towards Ukrainians, but also understanding that our soldiers are protecting not just our country, but the whole Europe.

Check out the nearest protests to support Ukraine here or in your official news or government channels and visit it to show that you #StandWithUkraine .

Demand the World to Help Ukraine

Demand the international organizations such as UN to help Ukraine, write letters to elected officials+ EU/NATO officials. The full list of websites to demand support for Ukraine can be found here.

If you live in USA, you can also write or call your elected representatives.

Boycott Russian Goods

More and more companies stop their business in Russia. Not buying the goods from the aggressor country means not feeding the economy of Russia, where a lot of taxes are being used for the war. This is a simple yet effective measure that might have far-reaching implications.

Help Ukrainians Fleeing to Your Countries

If you have Ukrainian friends, have been visiting Ukraine and loved it here or simply want to help out Ukrainians who have to flee our country without any plans for the future, you can help them by offering your home for a while. Be sure, that when the war is over, these people will be happy to share their roof in Ukraine with you.

Here’s a map of the shelters offered to Ukrainians by people around the world. You can add your home there as well.

AirBnB joined the charity and now offering hosts to help Ukrainians by inviting them into their homes. Read more about AirBnB Help Ukraine program and join to help Ukrainians find a stay.

I would love to thank all my tour guests who are worrying about me and my country, to my guests from all over the world who are ready to open their doors to me, to help directly with money or housing. The best help now is to spread this information and stay vocal about Russia invading Ukraine.

I trust our President, our Army and I am looking forward to the peaceful time when I will see you again on my Awesome Kyiv Tours!
