Searching for craft beer in Kyiv? Good news: you are in a city that takes its beer seriously. This is my local list of the best craft beer bars in Kyiv, the ones I send my guests to when they get thirsty after exploring Kyiv with me.
I first wrote this guide in 2020. Since then Kyiv has been through COVID and is living through a full-scale war, so in July 2026 I re-checked every bar on this list. Nine out of ten are still pouring. That tells you everything about how this city treats its beer. One thing did change: curfew. Kyiv sleeps from midnight to 5:00, so most bars now close between 22:00 and 23:00. Start your beer expedition early.
Still planning the rest of your trip? This bar list pairs well with my full guide to the best things to do in Kyiv.
So here is the list, from the most central bars to those located in the most godforsaken districts (because who knows where you can end up, right?)
ProRock

If you are searching for craft beer in Kyiv combined with live music, welcome to ProRock. A centrally located bar that welcomes everybody, especially those who are into music. It used to work 24/7. The curfew ended that era (these days it runs until 23:00), but the live music stayed.
ProRock offers a wide range of Ukrainian craft beers – just ask a bartender or waiter for help.
TIP: If you are about to come Friday or Saturday evening, make a reservation in advance, as you might find it impossible to find a place, even at the bar. Better to do it a couple of days in advance, either by giving them a call or by writing on Facebook
Mokri Vusa (Мокрі Вуса)

Mokri Vusa (translated as “wet mustache”) offers a wide range of Ukrainian craft beers, along with the international positions. The pub has moved since I first wrote about it and now lives at 1 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, next to the Bessarabka market, so it is still in the very centre of Kyiv.
If you want to discover their full diversity of beers, the bartenders will offer an additional online menu with extra bottled beers.
Delicious fusion cuisine with Ukrainian flavor, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff will make you want to come back.
Mokri Vusa has a lot of space, so if you are searching for Kyiv bars for big companies, it will suit you just well.
Kosatka

One of the most popular places among hipsters in Kyiv, not only it offers delicious craft beers, but also cool and friendly vibes.
Its chamber atmosphere and conceptual design has made it one of the most trendy bars in Kyiv. In the evening Kosatka turns into a real art place with the best DJ parties and active conversations near the bar counter.
Tsypa Craft Pub Kyiv

This small friendly Kyiv craft beer bar offers some of the unique tastes made in Carpathian Mountains district. Traditional beers along with some of the best craft positions and gutsul-style pizza will not leave you indifferent.
The beer comes from their own Hutsul brewery in the Carpathian village of Kvasy, and if you fall for it, the Tsypa beer shop will let you take bottles home to seduce your friends into visiting Kyiv.
VarVar Bar

This central Kyiv bar is offering many craft beer positions of the same named Kyiv brewery. It does not matter if you are a professional craft beer drinker or just the beginner – here the bartenders will help you make the right choice.
Every once in a while Kyiv craft beer brewers are presenting the new sorts of craft beer right in the bar.
Klaipeda

If you find yourself exploring Podil bars, and craving for some quality craft beer in Podil, visit Klaipeda – gastro pub offering a long list of Lithuanian craft beers.
The rich taste of the Lithuanian craft beer in Klaipeda might inspire you to visit again not only this bar, but also Lithuania itself.
DRUNKEN MONKEY Craft Bar

This craft beer bar in Podil, named after one of the most popular beer positions of K&F brewery, is offering a wide selection of Ukrainian craft beers and delicious foods.
Located in the basement of Podil historical building, it creates a unique atmosphere, especially when the live bands are playing.
Punkraft

Searching for craft beer in Podil? Head towards Punkraft, where the cheerful bartenders will offer you the best craft beer of Ukrainian brewers and some of the exclusive imported positions.
For those who want to do some exercise in between or during the beers sessions, there is Play Station and vintage slot machines.
Lisopylka

If you made it to Lisopylka – congratulations. You are a true unstoppable craft beer lover.
Located in the godforsaken district of Voskresenka, Lisopylka Brewery is considered one of the best craft beer places in Kyiv.
This brewery and bar is located in the former sawmill, that’s where the name is coming from (in Ukr – Sawmill – “Lisopylka”).
These days Lisopylka is the official tap-room of Varvar Brew, so if you are interested in the topic of Ukrainian craft beer, ask the staff about a tour to the Varvar brewery.
The 2020 version of this list had a tenth bar, Kedy on Bessarabka, the one whose name I told you not to even try to spell. It made it through the pandemic and three years of the full-scale invasion, then closed in 2025. Nine survivors out of ten is a better score than most cities would manage in peacetime, but pour one out anyway.
If next day after your Kyiv craft beer expedition you are still alive, then welcome on Awesome or Awful Kyiv Walking Tour.
